Here is the video of Charlotte that we filmed tonight. Charlotte was Baby A. Her amniotic sack is what ruptured when my water broke.
When she was born she had a hard time breathing. She was put on a ventilator to breath and surfactant was put into her lungs to help the little air sacks expand. She also had a little pocket of air escaping from her lungs. The Dr's put in a tube to drain out the air. It was a little scary for a while, and we weren't sure if she would be able to stay at our hospital. She's a fighter and soon she was off the ventilator and onto a C-pap. Then she was off the C-pap and on to a cannula. And within 48 hours of her birth she was breathing room air. Everyone was amazed at her rapid progress.
We'll do some more videos later. Soon we will get to give them a special type of bath for preemies. The nurse that told me about it says its really cute. So we'll film that.
I'm probably going to do the "answers to your questions" post tomorrow so add comments with any questions you have.
Thanks for your prayers.
